In 1987 , 38 Iranian men – supporters of Freedom Fighters , including myself , were put into an Etelaat , a prison run by the Iranian government .It was near the Caspian Sea . I was 21 years old and a Muslim believer at the time .After 5 months of being in prison , so called ‘trials ‘ began .My group of 38 were found guilty of being in opposition to the Iranian government , after a ‘trial’ which lasted about 5 minutes.

Usually , between 2-5 people were killed every morning .Except in September 1987 when one Sunday before sunrise ,35 of my comrades were ordered out to the yard and killed by a firing squad .

One week later, my Mum who was Muslim and also a great believer in the healing power of jesus and Mother Mary came to visit me .It was through her love that she was able to get into a maximum  security prison.

Usually no visitors were allowed .she  used to go to a Christian Armenian Orthodox church in the port of Anzali ( near Russia). On the morning of her visit she had been to see an 85 years old  christian woman at that church, who was blessed with the gift of prophecy .Everybody loved her dearly and respectfully called her Madam .Mum told me I  would have a clear sign from God . I had been unable to sleep for more than 10 minutes every night since I had been in prison.

2 days after Mum’s visit a small bird flew into my cell though a small hole in the window and started circling above my head . I was in shock for about 2 hours.I  knew that this was a sign from the Christian God .

About 2 weeks later in the afternoon a gaurd knocked in my cell door and told me to collect my stuff and come out .I was dizzy and wondered what was going on .He took me to see the prison manager who said ” go home Mr Hadi ” . I asked him if he was going to kill me , He said ” No ” . The Gaurd walked me out along path to the prison exit and I was worried .At the exit I hesitated and looked around bewildered saying ” Are you sure sir ? ” . The Gaurd said ” just go ” . I was in a dream . feeling very emotional .Through the open gate I saw my Mum and my Dad waiting for me .I hugged my Mum ; She started crying and asked ” Do you believed in Jesus now “?
